Israelism
NA | USA | 2023 | English | 84 mins
Director: Erin Axelman & Sam Eilertsen
In conjunction with Shropshire Friends of Palestine, we are screening Israelism which follows two young American Jews whose journeys to Israel spark profound internal conflicts. Raised to be unwavering supporters of Israel, they encounter the harsh realities of the occupation and apartheid-like conditions in Palestine. Their awakening leads them into the heart of a generational struggle over Jewish identity, belonging, and justice. This powerful documentary examines the shifting perspectives within the Jewish diaspora, highlighting voices that challenge mainstream narratives. Through deeply personal storytelling and political insight, Israelism questions what it means to be both Jewish and critical of Israel, offering a poignant look at truth, identity, and resistance.
